We try to rescue as many cats and kittens as possible, giving them a chance at finding
their forever homes.
We are located at 900 Guelph Street, Kitchener.
Open Saturday and Sunday,
11am until 2:30pm.
Founder of
Kitchener Stray Cat Rescue. Tammy runs KSCR along with our amazing volunteers.
Our lounge is open to visitors every Saturday and Sunday from 11am - 2:30pm, no appointment needed. Please keep in mind our volunteers give up their free time to help showcase our cats to the public in the hopes to unite potential adopters with their new forever friend. If you are visiting the lounge without the intention of adopting, we ask that you please keep your visit short, and consider leaving a monetary or supply donation to help support the ongoing care of our cats. Children are welcome in our lounge but must be accompanied by an adult.
Because we are volunteer run, we may have to close the lounge unexpectedly and will post it on our Facebook.
Simply pledge $10.00 a month for 12 months! We'll keep track of your donations, and once you've completed your
12-month challenge, your name will be added to the plaque!
KSCR operates solely on the support of caring individuals like you. We receive no government funding and no help from the City of Kitchener or the Canadian Government.
Four years ago, our founder, Tammy, took a leap of faith and opened our facility in Kitchener to address the issue of cats and kittens suffering all over KW and surrounding cities. Despite efforts to seek assistance from the city, Tammy was forced to rely on her own determination and the support of kind-hearted donors like you.
The monthly overhead to run our facility - not including vet bills - is $4500.00. Please help us continue making a difference.
If you do not use PayPal, we accept etransfers to kitchenerstraycatrescue@gmail.com
Unfortunately our rescue is at max capacity and unable to take surrenders at this time. Please email Kitchenerstraycatrescue@gmail.com to be put on our waitlist.
All surrenders must sign a surrender agreement and pay $100 surrendering fee. This fee covers a portion of the cost of a vet exam for your pet.
We do not turn away cats due to medical issues. You are obligated to disclose your cats medical history, current health status and if they are fixed. Failure to do so could result in signification health problems for your pet as well as putting the shelter cats a risk. We do not judge - we just need to be able to help these cats the best we can.
